Southdale Mall is located at 10 Southdale Center, 66th and France, and is South of Crosstown Highway 62, North of I-494 in Edina, Minnesota. Situated on 500 acres of land, Southdale Mall is open from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 6 pm on Sundays. Further, Southdale Mall may have varying hours on holidays.

In 1950, the Dayton Company envisioned creating one of the first enclosed shopping centers in the United States as a way to address the growing needs of expanding businesses throughout the surrounding area of Edina. Later, in 1954, the ground-breaking began and Southdale Mall was completed just two years later. Finally, in 1956, Southdale Mall was the first enclosed shopping center in the nation.
